With the passage of the Provide Accurate Information Directly (PAID) Act, the Medicare Secondary Payer (MSP) statute is amended to eventually require Medicare return Medicare Part C (Medicare Advantage) and Part D (Medicare Prescription Drug) coverage information to insurance carriers and self-insureds through the Section 111 Medicare query process. There will be a one year implementation period, it is important for practitioners to understand how this may change the landscape of Medicare recovery.
